Good Budget GPUs for 2025

Hey! Have you ever been going along your way, looking on Newegg and the likes for some good deals on PC parts, and then suddenly BAM! Your GPUs cost more than your entire computer? Like, the issue is getting reeaally bad… Even their mid tier RTX 5070 costs upwards of $850!!

I mean, you could always just buy from the NVIDIA website though right? Well, you could… if they even have anything in stock! And I know I’m pretty late to the party, but the issue is definitely still a problem.

Of course, old doesn’t always mean bad though. In fact, my PC I’m writing this on right now has a GTX 1070 but it still rocks at 1080p!

Anyways, the point is that GPUs cost a LOT, but you don’t always need to go with the 5090 to get the performance you want. So, I figured I could list a few budget GPUs that still get the job done!

First up, we have the one, the only, GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. Man, this thing is a BEAST and probably the best price to performance GPU Nvidia will ever release. With 2584 cores and 11gb of GDDR5X VRAM, this is a very solid choice for 1080p and even 1440p gaming.

Cyberpunk 2077 (1080p Ultra) – 78 FPS

Red Dead Redemption 2 (1440p High) – 84 FPS

Horizon: Zero Dawn (Ultimate at 1440p) – 92 FPS

Apex Legends (1440p Max) – 165 FPS

Call of Duty Warzone (1080p Ultra) – More than 120 FPS

Yep, you saw that right. This thing can game at 1440p High settings in RDR2 with 84 FPS AND 78 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p Ultra. (Obviously no ray tracing though, the GTX cards don’t have cores for that)You can find it new for around $400 on Newegg or around $250 on Amazon depending on the brand.

Next up, we have Intel coming in clutch with a modern 2560 core, 12gb GDDR6 GPU that only costs $350 on Newegg and $400 on Amazon. Although Intel has actually been making GPUs since 1998, they became popular with the Intel Arc Battlemage series, which just turned 1 year old about a week ago! In terms of performance, this thing can do quite a lot! Even 4K! In fact, all of these benchmarks were recorded at 4K max settings including AA and AE with NO UPSCALING. Like, $400 for 4k max setting gaming??? Bro!! And if 4k is a bit too fancy for you, this thing does even better in 1440p! Although, do be warned against drivers and reliability, because it has been known for it’s unreliability in Windows.

Up last but not least to close out the trilogy of GPU companies, we have the AMD Radeon 9060 XT! I actually had some trouble finding a good benchmark, but eventually found a comically long list of 1440p benchmarks comparing to the 4060. And dang this thing is pretty powerful for it’s price! It has 2048 cores, and 16gb of GDDR6, making it powerful against shaders and things of the like as they consume a lot of VRAM.

Welp, I think we might be done! Thanks for reading my first article! If you have any feedback on how I’m writing these articles, it would be greatly appreciated! Stay cool!
